What is Directors & Officers Insurance?

This type of insurance protects management (officers and directors) of a corporation against damages from claims resulting from negligent or wrongful acts in the course of their duties. This coverage also covers the corporation (and even the officers and directors in some cases) for expenses incurred in defending lawsuits arising from alleged wrongful acts of officers or directors. Often referred to as D&O insurance is typically purchased by the company to protect all directors and officers. Intentional illegal acts or illegal profits are typically no covered under D&O insurance policies
